Trying...

Hi,
Just joined your babytalk site and wanted to share my story. I am 34 and had a miscarriage back in March. My husband and I were so excited, first try and bam...he must have had good swimmers! Unfortunately at 10 weeks I noticed some spotting and with an ultrasound was told the baby had stopped growing at 8weeks. Needless to say we were really shocked, right before my 8th week we had an ultrasound and everything seemed ok. Very sad and confused I had to have a DNC since my body was not 'cleansing it self to prepare for the next go round', man oh man the trauma your poor uterus goes through! Seems I healed nicely and we have been trying since July but with no luck thus far. I must admit for the first few times I was very negative, sad and scared to death! Still am a bit, but I am trying to be positive and move on. I have since been going to acupuncture to see if we can get my circulation focused more on my uterus and I would like to begin using the yoga series yoga4fertility...I asked my husband to get me the set for Christmas. Let's see if he does! LOL! Anyway I will be popping on to your site to check it out often and would love if there is anyone else out there to share their story and keep me updated on the process! So heres hoping and also wishing good luck to you out there in wanna be a momma land! BABY DUST!!!

My charting journey

Hello everyone,

I have been charting for the last two cycles (on CD20). I chart BBT, CM and OPK. A little about myself, I was on the Depo shot for about 6 yrs. I received my last shot is Dec. and went on BCPs in Feb. to help control AF when she arrived (which my dr. didn't think would be for about 5 months). Well, AF arrived my first cycle off of depo. I was on BCPs for 3 months. May and June were my first two cycles off of BC and that is when I started charting.

I wasn't sure if I was even going to O right away, or if it was going to take time. Well, I "O"ed on CD 16 of my 1st cycle off of BC. That was a 28 day cycle. I Oed on CD 15 of this cycle, and as I stated earlier, I am on CD 20.

My maternity insurance doesn't kick in until July 15th. Then I have to get a professional PG test done that must be a -, then we can officially start trying.

I will TAB from charting for the first 3 months (just tracking CDs) and hope that the "lack of stress" will help in our journey.

Good luck to all and LOBD!!!!!!!!

Thank you for listening,
Tiffany

BASIC: How to do a home pregnancy test

Home Pregnancy Test How-To

Most home pregnancy tests can be purchased over the counter, are reasonably inexpensive and work in a similar way.
Basically, the user will be instructed to hold a stick in her urine stream. There are others, however, that involve collecting urine in a cup and then placing the stick into it. After the instructed wait time, the user checks the 'results window'. You are pregnant if a plus sign or a line appears, no matter how faint it is.There are also some brands of digital tests that will show the words “pregnant” or “not pregnant.”

It is recommended that you also repeat the test in a few days, no matter what result you get. A negative test does not always mean you're not pregnant, particularly very soon after a missed period.

Share your HPT stories here! Which brand works the best? Have tips for new users? Let us know!

[Edited on 5/3/2009]

Hi everyone,
We are so excited about our "charting lounge" here at ProjectBaby. Charting BBTs can be confusing and challenging, especially given some of the requirements to achieve accurate charts. At MeFertil we try to make charting as easy and user friendly as possible by providing the tool that is always within reach (your iPhone or iPod Touch) and easy to interpret. We are very excited to hear news about success stories from our charters. We hope that your stay here in the charting forum will be brief and that you will be moving on to "I am PG" groups soon! In the meantime, please ask your questions, give your comments and share your stories no matter where and how you chart. We are here to support one another and make this journey into parenthood as enjoyable as possible.

Renata

www.mefertil.com
[Edited on 4/29/2009]
[Edited on 4/29/2009]

Boy this is such a looooong fertility journey. I should be an old pro at this by now. I cannot complain as I have a beautiful 11 year old daughter conceived by artificial insem. Did two rounds of IVF after that and no success. That was 8 years ago....am now getting re-married and starting the fertility journey again - just turned the big 40! Been through the bloodwork, sono's and hsg test....ended up having a fibroid removed, a relatively easy surgery. Am now bringing my fiancee to find out the results of his semen analysis - he is not a big fan of assisted reproduction techniques - would love to do this all naturally, but based on my history, it may be a long journey. Stay tuned and keep smiling!

Georgia Bill

The American Fertility Association Opposes Georgia Senate Bill 169March 4, 2009, New York City - The American Fertility Association is asking you to oppose a bill introduced in the Georgia State Senate. Senate Bill 169 would greatly reduce a patient’s rights to receive infertility treatments in Georgia. The key provisions are as follows:- No more than two or three eggs could ever be fertilized in a cycle; if a woman produced more eggs, they still could not be used.-Only 2 embryos could ever be transferred to the uterus, unless the woman is age 40 or over (then a max of 3).- No extra embryos could be cryo-preserved. If they are created, they have to be transferred.- No financial relief, such as insurance coverage, is proposed to help with the added financial burden of using less effective treatment. Patients will still have to pay out of pocket for less effective treatment.-Bans all financial compensation for donor gametes, such as egg donor, sperm donor, or embryo donation, which would greatly reduce the pool of available donors in Georgia. The American Fertility Association has joined forces with American Society of Reproductive Medicine and RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association, to oppose this bill. Several Georgia medical professionals have also voiced opposition like Daniel Shapiro, M.D., of Reproductive Biology Associates in Atlanta who tells The AFA, “This bill is intended to lay the foundation to overturn Roe v. Wade. The stipulations about IVF were added on late, after the ‘Octomom’ story hit the press. If any regulations are to be applied, they should come from medical boards and should regulate who practices fertility medicine and not how they practice.”The Georgia Senate Health & Human Services Committee will hold a hearing on SB 169 Thursday, March 5, at 9:00 AM in Room 450 of the State Capitol.
